It Is What We Thought It Was

Dr. Arie Friedman gave an informative and lively presentation this past Monday evening. He included passages from the monstrous ObamaCare bill itself and provided quotes from radical David Berwick, who will be appointed to head up it's implementation (more details to come on this appointment). The bill puts our healthcare in the hands of newly created government agencies, who will decide which procedures we can have and if we are worthy of certain treatments. Goodbye privacy (HIPAA). Doctors also have to fall in line with various standards aimed to limit their practices. Dr. Friedman didn't paint a pretty picture but all is not lost. That is why we have elections -let's get our candidates elected this November so we can stop this ever expanding government!

ObamaCare: What Now?

Republican Women of Wheeling Township will gather at HQ next Monday night, June 21, at 7 p.m. to hear Dr. Arie Friedman address the topic - ObamaCare: What Now?

Dr. Friedman is a pediatrician in Lincolnshire, who ran for Congress as a Republican candidate in the Feb. 2 primary, promptly pledging full support to 10th District nominee Robert Dold at the conclusion of that race.

Since entering the race late last October, Dr. Friedman has impressed many area Republicans with his articulate dedication to American values and to our national defense (as a Navy veteran who piloted a helicopter during the first Gulf War), and his advocacy for the free enterprise system and the dignity of the doctor/patient relationship.

Earlier this spring, Dr. Friedman attended our meeting where we presented a DVD documentary by the Heritage Foundation - "33 Minutes" - concerning the critical need for missile defense. Having a knowledgable celebrity on hand, we invited him to offer comments introducing the documentary and then to comment and entertain questions after its conclusion.

The exchange was a dynamic one, and when I asked for a show of hands as to who would like me to invite Arie back to talk about ObamaCare, every hand shot up.

Come to this meeting next Monday night, but don't just come ... bring someone. You will not regret the time invested nor will you regret the task of inviting and bringing one or more friends. Gentlemen are welcome, too. Republican HQ is at 909 E. Rand Road, Arlington Heights (south of Palatine Road, northwest of Dryden, off the same parking lot as Classic Oak Furniture, across from Blockbuster).

See you next Monday!
